John Mark Curriculum

WHAT IS THE JOHN MARK CURRICULUM?

The John Mark Curriculum is designed to help people who are planting churches cross-culturally among America’s urban poor. Some potential church planters may want to enroll to better understand their future vocation.

The John Mark Curriculum represents course work oriented around the five distinct roles on a church plant team: Volunteer, Support, Primary, Team Leader, Multiple Team Leader.

For each role, there are three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced so church planters can sharpen their skills over time.

John Mark CurriculumThe number of modules required for each Course increases depending upon the demands of each role.

The material can be self-directed or can be completed in teams, large groups, or as an organization.

The John Mark Curriculum comes with everything needed to facilitate completion, including instructions, learning points for all 40 modules, papers, tests, and test keys. Also included are 12 videos and 13 books that are required viewing or reading for the Basic level.

The cost for all these materials is $295 plus shipping.

Roles of the Church Plant Team

Volunteer Team Members:

Helpers who participate in one or more church plant activities (single or multiple events) and whose commitment level may vary.

Support Team Member:

Team members whose contribution is made at strategic points in the church planting process based on gifts, schedules, or proximity (i.e. “Special Forces”).

Primary Team Member:

Team members whose membership on the team is a primary assignment demanding significant ministry time and energy; commitment is generally until the church is planted.

Team Leader Definition:

Leader of cross-cultural church plant team.

Multiple Team Leader:

Facilitator and coordinator of teams who provides training, counsel, resources, and support to team leaders.
