Ministering with World Impact

back

Categories: Missionaries are committed to building relationships with inner-city residents in order to develop indigenous leaders for the urban church. Interns serve alongside our missionaries for three to twelve months and raise support for their living expenses, but do not receive benefits.

Roles: Missionaries fill different roles in ministry: church planter, Christian school teacher, ministry administrator, camp director, clinic nurse, etc. Regardless of their role, every missionary is expected to contribute to church planting in the city.

Income and Benefits: World Impact missionaries receive monthly income, housing, health insurance, retirement contributions, and reimbursements for utilities and vehicle costs. The income structure is based upon family size.

Housing: As an incarnational ministry, our missionaries have the opportunity to interact, befriend, and learn from inner-city neighbors while also living in community with other missionaries. Missionaries live in homes or apartments provided by World Impact at a camp or inner-city location. Single staff members live together with other missionaries of the same gender while married couples have their own residence.

Financial Support Raising: Prior to ministering with World Impact, missionaries develop a list of individuals and churches to support them financially and in prayer. One-hundred percent of each designated contribution is placed in the missionary’s account to cover income and benefits.

Applying as a Missionary or Intern with World Impact: Missionary candidates require a written application, school transcripts and written references (husbands and wives both complete an application). Following a review process, approved applicants are invited for our tri-annual Candidate Assessment Program, an on-site, one-week interview and orientation process. If accepted, a support-raising letter is mailed to potential supporters. This sequence can typically take one to five months.
