Work/Vocational Segment
Students are required to work, which reinforces the Core Values, supports the ministries of Deer Creek and the Ranch and provides vocational training. Even though students learn various skills, they do not become skilled tradesmen during the program.
Retreats—cooking, cleaning, serving meals, dish washing, menu planning, etc.
- Vehicle and building maintenance
- Gardening and lawn care
- Life-guarding
- Kids’ camp counselor

New house construction—sheet rocking, painting, electrical, plumbing, laying tile, laying rock siding, framing, etc.

Life Skills Segment
This part of the program is to help students become better equipped to live in the “real world” upon graduation.
- Living with others in Christian community
- Self-discipline
- Personal finances and budgeting
- Nutrition class
- House cleaning and washing clothes
- Dental hygiene
- Class on relationships with women
- Hospitality (how to treat guests)
- Multi-cultural relations
- Exercise
- Obtaining a driver’s license and GED
- Menu planning, grocery shopping and cooking for a household
