Dallas LogoDallas' new slogan "Live Large. Think Big." describes the essence and vitality of a city built on big dreams, freshly blazed trails and an attitude that all things are possible. This richly diverse city offers a thriving culinary scene, leading arts district, countless luxury accommodations, professional sports, trendy entertainment districts and endless shopping opportunities.

Dallas is the ninth largest city in the United States and is the Southwest's leading business and financial center, it boasts the largest wholesale market in the world and lays claim to being one of the top convention cities in the United States. And it's the number one leisure travel and business destination in Texas.

However, in March 2005, the Dallas Morning News reported the city as having the overall highest crime rate among major cities in the United States. Although the government is making strides to improve these statistics, in many areas of Dallas, hopelessness drives many to destruction of themselves and others.

World Impact Dallas seeks to evangelize, equip, and empower leaders from broken communities that will in turn reach out to their communities with the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since its establishment in June of 1996, the Dallas ministry has grown in South Dallas to encompass two church plants, four staff homes and a 6000 square foot Ministry Center.

Currently, World Impact Dallas is expanding to begin ministry efforts in Vickery Meadows. There, over sixty thousand people are crammed into apartments within three and a half square miles. The majority of the population is Hispanic, which together with international refuges makes the area 25% non-English speaking. In fact there are over twenty different languages spoken in Vickery Meadows.

World Impact Dallas is already working to build relationships in order to disciple indigenous leaders from the various ethnic groups. Through planting culturally relevant faith communities, immigrant families can help support one another as they strive to make it in America. As the ministry grows, the Dallas team is in need of full-time staff who sense a call from God to serve in the inner city. Volunteers who have a burden for sharing their talents and abilities are always needed.
