Located in the heart of the central San Joaquin Valley of California, two hours from the coast and Yosemite, about three hours from San Francisco and Los Angeles, Fresno sits in the middle of the richest agricultural land in the world, yet leads the state in percentage of children living in poverty. Ninety-nine percent of those children live within a five-mile radius of our building.
 Fresno is one of the fastest growing cities in America and the sixth largest city in California with a population of 428,000; of that 40% are Hispanic, 37% White, 11% Asian, 8% African American and 4% other ethnicities.
We share the gospel of Jesus Christ in four areas of Fresno ministering to children, teenagers and adults weekly. We run neighborhood Bible clubs year-round, have field trips, summer swimming events, camping programs, adult Bible studies, and we host college and church youth groups for an urban exposure during spring and Christmas breaks.
We invest discipleship time into those who respond to the gospel. Meeting one-on-one, or in small groups, a mentor guides them in their faith, emphasizing biblical doctrine and character. Adults participate in home fellowships, gathering each week in groups of 10-15, and all come together one Sunday a month for celebration and worship. These home fellowships comprise our second church plant.
Our long-range plan is reflected in our mission statement: Drawing near to God, we labor for His Kingdom by purposefully making disciples, living among the urban poor to creatively and aggressively establish community-led, maturing, self-reproducing, kingdom-minded churches.
Full-time staff are always needed. We especially need those who speak Spanish and a variety of Asian languages. Staff serve as Bible club leaders, camp counselors, mentors, community ministers and church planters.
