Los Angeles Office
The Los Angeles ministry office is located in south Los Angeles at 1977 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90007., approximately one a mile north of the University of Southern California.
Our community is diverse (40 percent of the residents are African-American; 60 percent are Latino). More than 45 missionaries are bringing Christ's hope to this spiritually needy community.
Our ministry is wholistic--we meet peoples’ physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
Watts Office
World Impact has ministered in Watts since the early 1970's. Our Ministry Center is located at 2003 East Imperial Highway in the California community made famous by the 1965 riots.
- Imperial Courts Housing Projects: Our three-story Ministry Center is located on the corner of Grape St. and Imperial Highway. The first two floors housed the Watts Christian School which was open 1994-2004. The top floor has two apartments, our offices, a fellowship meeting room, a fitness room and a game room. We have Bible studies here throughout the week for all ages; and other outreaches are also here. We distribute boxes of food to those in need monthly.
Los Angeles Church plants:
- Jefferson Christian Fellowship (northwest of USC): led by Pastor Rigo Estrada, reaches our local neighborhood with health outreaches, adult Bible studies, Urban Ministry Institute classes, ESL and prayer groups, and Sunday Services (Spanish).
- Iglesia
Sembrando una Esperanza (Sowing Hope Church), (map) led by Pastor Jorge Rivera, meets Wednesday nights, for church services. Evangelism and health outreaches are held monthly.
- Watts Powerhouse Church, (map) led by Pastor Todd Grant, meets at the Watts Center. In addition to a host of weekly activities, including a medical and dental ministry, Powerhouse Church holds Sunday morning services.
- Simple Church: Weekly evangelism teams are targeting unchurched communities through discipling new believers and equipping them to plant simple churches.
Christian Schools:
Los Angeles Christian Schools: Elementary & Middle School
LACS completed its 25th year of building character, competence, and confidence into our students. We prepare students academically, emotionally, and spiritually to graduate into top high schools.
The Sonshine Ministries:
Our thrift store provides quality clothing and household goods to our neighbors at reasonable prices while we minister Christ's love to the community. We have a Bible study/prayer group for store customers and are always willing to pray for any customer who needs prayer.
To donate clothing or household goods, email the Sonshine Shop.
