GOD IS AT WORK IN THE CITY!
We are so blessed to be a part of what God is doing in inner-city St. Louis. World Impact St. Louis focuses on evangelizing, equipping, and empowering the unchurched urban poor for the kingdom of Christ, all with the ultimate goal of training indigenous leaders to plant and strengthen urban churches. Our base of operations is located in north St. Louis, in a former YMCA built in 1908. This Ministry Center serves as a hub for outreach, ministry programs and events, and compassion ministries. As we live, work, and minister in this community, we see, over and over again, that…
THE NEED IS GREAT…
- The district surrounding World Impact St. Louis has experienced drastic increases in violent crimes, prostitution, and drug related charges in the past few years. Our neighborhood is a dangerous place for youth to grow up, ranking #1 in the entire city for homicides.
- World Impact’s zip code area ranks #4 in St. Louis City for out-of-wedlock births, with 87% of all children being born outside of a married relationship.
- The neighborhood surrounding World Impact St. Louis’ Ministry Center is 97% African American, a number drastically higher than the rest of St. Louis’ approximate 50%, leaving our neighborhood segregated from the city as a whole.
- An unemployment rate of 22% in World Impact’s zip code is nearly double that of the city of St. Louis.
BUT WE KNOW THAT GOD IS GREATER.
