Reports to: Executive Director of THE OAKS CAMP & Conference Center

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for preparation and presentation of high quality meals prepared in a cost-efficient manner. Responsible for supervision of food service facility.

TASKS PERFORMED:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of chefs, cooks and food-service personnel
  • Recruit, hire and train staff.
  • Train urban youth and adults in basic food service skills
  • Plan menus and utilize leftovers
  • Supervise preparation of food.
  • Order food and supplies, maintain records to determine cost of food per camper day
  • Develop and submit annual fiscal budget plan for approval
  • Oversee food service facility and equipment use
  • Budget for and purchase equipment as needed
  • Meet or exceed health department standards
  • Communicate regularly with the Executive Director
  • Communicate with Director of Group Relations re: number of meals, times
  • Represent THE OAKS in a positive, Christian spirit at all times

REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT:

  • Dedicated Christian, seeking to walk in God's way through a commitment to: spiritual growth in Christ, prayer and study of the scriptures, personal purity and the Church.
  • In agreement with World Impact's Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation of Christian Commitment.
  • Experienced in camp or institutional food-service setting
  • Desire and ability to work in a camp setting.
  • A self-starter and organizer.
  • Skilled in administration and communication.
  • Skilled in leadership of staff and problem solving.
  • Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support team to cover expenses.
