Reports to: Area Director
Overall responsibility: Does all work necessary leading to establishment
of
indigenous churches.
Basic requirements: An Evangelical Christian with a personal commitment
to Jesus
Christ, in agreement with World Impact's Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation
of
Christian Commitment.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Bachelor's degree in church planting, Bible, theology or missions
preferred.
- Experience in cross-cultural ministry preferred.
- Bilingual fluency may be required.
- Displays knowledge of, and commitment to, the Word of God as the source
of all
wisdom, discernment and counsel. Knows how, and is committed, to listen
to the
Holy Spirit and minister to the needs of others.
- Applies the Word of God in exercising wisdom, discernment and counsel.
- Seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit and practices the power of prayer
in
ministering to others needs.
- Models a Christian lifestyle and leadership to staff and constituency.
General Responsibilities:
- Studies God's Word and prays for family, staff and World Impact ministry.
- Maintains a Godly household.
- Works with the church-planting team to select a target area or ethnic
group to
plant an indigenous church.
- Assists in the implementation of the team's charter.
- Works with volunteers to insure a shared participation within
the ministry.
- Works closely with church-planting team to conduct Bible studies,
lead
worship and administer church functions.
- Trains indigenous Christians to take over the work of the church.
- Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Demonstrates flexibility in dealing with new or difficult situations.
- Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support team to cover
expenses.
