Reports to: Director of Ministries

Overall responsibility: Lead, administrate and supervise the Los Angeles Christian School, an elementary school (K-5) and a middle school (6-8) with 150 students who come from World Impact church plants. The purpose of the school is to “equip students for a life of Christian discipleship by helping each student develop Christian character, academic competence and self-confidence.” Our mission school is exclusively for families who could not afford a private school education.

Basic requirements:

  • An Evangelical Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, in agreement with World Impact’s Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation of Christian Commitment.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Displays knowledge of, and commitment to, the Word of God as the source of all wisdom, discernment and counsel. Knows how, and is committed, to listen to the Holy Spirit and minister to the needs of others.
  • Applies the Word of God in exercising wisdom, discernment and counsel.
  • Seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit and practices the power of prayer in ministering to others needs.
  • Models a Christian lifestyle and leadership to staff and constituency.
  • Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support team to cover expenses.
  • Supports the organizational vision and purpose for World Impact schools.
  • Displays cultural sensitivity.
  • Five years of elementary and/or secondary teaching and/or administration preferred.
  • Administrative Services credential or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or an equivalent degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in urban ministry preferred.
  • Serves as a visionary motivator with shepherding/pastoral heart to the faculty (strong listening and relational skills).
Specific responsibilities:
  • Train and supervise on-site school administrators.
  • Develop, improve and supervise the overall educational program.
  • Ensure high standards for planning, instruction, curriculum and extra curricular activities.
  • Superintend the evaluation, adoption, development and implementation of all curriculum.
  • Provide instructional supervision, evaluation and professional development.
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train missionary teachers and support personnel with the assistance of the Human Resources Department and local leadership.
  • Develop and administrate the school budget.
  • Administrate the Student Sponsorship Program and other school fund-raising projects.
  • Ensure the proper administration of school tuition and fee policies.
  • Administrate the purchase and stewardship of instructional supplies and resources.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing student disciplinary practices.
  • Promote and facilitate meaningful parent involvement at school.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and stewardship of school facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure that all local and state health and safety requirements are met and adhered to.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all school and pupil records as required by law.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and supporters.
  • Serve as a support team member of a church plant team.
