Morning Star Ranch Director/Missionary


Job Description:

Reports to: Regional Vice President

Overall Responsibility: Oversee effective operation of Morning Star Ranch

Basic Requirements: An Evangelical Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, in agreement with World Impact's Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation of Christian Commitment.

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. Five years ministry experience preferred.
  3. Displays knowledge of, and commit to, the WOrd of God as the source of all wisdom, discernment and counsel. Knows how, and is commited to listen to the Holy Spirit and minister to the needs of others.
  4. Applies the Word of God in exercising wisdom, discernment and counsel.
  5. Seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit and practices the power of prayer in ministering to others' needs.
  6. Models a Christian lifestyle and leadership to staff and constituency.
  7. Possesses strenghts in pastoral care and a heart for the urban poor.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and oversees the overall administration, funding and operation for a staff of six to ten; operation budget of $300,000-$500,000 and ministries including the Christian Leadership Training Program
  2. Knows God personally, modeling His grace and making Him known personally to staff, Christian Leadership Training Program students and camp guests. Provides leadership, vision, direction, motivation, inspiration and training to progressively accomplish this mission.
  3. Establishes three-to-seven year goals, objectives and action steps in conjunction with staff and the Local Advisory Board.
  4. Builds and fosters strong working relationships with local and national staff, the Local Advisory Board and Christian community leaders
  5. Prepares and administers annual budget in conjunction with Local Advisory Board. Develops and coordinates implmentation of annual fund raising programs. Is responsible and accountable for fiscal management.
  6. Coordinates, directs, and supervises ongoing activities with ministry staff and volunteers including ministry training, recruitment, facilities and staff housing.
  7. Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support team to cover expenses.
