Morning Star Ranch Food Service manager

Job Description:

Reports to: Morning Star Ranch Director

Overall Responsibility: Oversee food service responsibilities for retreats and camps, ensuring high quality product and presentation

Basic Requirements: An Evangelical Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, in agreement with World Impact's Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation of Christian Commitment.

1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Two to three years experience in retreat, camp, or institutional meal preparation preferred.
3. One year supervisory experience preferred.
4. Skilled in budgeting and inventory.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Displays knowledge of, and commit to, the Word of God as the source of all wisdom, discernment and counsel. Knows how, and is commited to listen to the Holy Spirit and minister to the needs of others.
7. Applies the Word of God in exercising wisdom, discernment and counsel.
8. Seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit and practices the power of prayer in ministering to others' needs.
9. Models a Christian lifestyle and leadership to staff and constituency.
10. Committed to following the Lord's call on his/her life as it pertains to the mission and vision of Morning Star Ranch.

General Responsibilities:

1. Supervises and coordinates kitchen activities.
2. Plans menus that are economical and nutritious.
3. Coordinates food and supply purchases.
4. Monitors food costs and inventory control.
5. Maintains dining hall.
6. Recruits and trains food service personnel.
7. Ensures health and safety standards are met according to KDHE guidelines.
8. Assists in developing and implementing the annual budget.
9. Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support team to cover expenses.
10. All other duties as assigned.
