Morning Star Ranch Property Manager
Job Description:
Reports to: Morning Star Ranch Director
Overall Responsibility: Oversee MSR properties, buildings and equipment including maintenance and repair.
Basic Requirements: An Evangelical Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, in agreement with World Impact's Affirmation of Faith and Affirmation of Christian Commitment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two to three years of property management experience, preferably in a camp or retreat setting.
- Basic knowledge of computers and primary software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Displays knowledge of, and commit to, the Word of God as the source of all wisdom, discernment and counsel. Knows how, and is commited to listen to the Holy Spirit and minister to the needs of others.
- Applies the Word of God in exercising wisdom, discernment and counsel.
- Seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit and practices the power of prayer in ministering to others' needs.
- Models a Christian lifestyle and leadership to staff and constituency.
- Committed to following the Lord's call on his/her life as it pertains to the mission and vision of Morning Star Ranch.
General Responsibilities:
- Regularly surveys all buildings and equipment and makes needed repairs.
- Maintains records management for equipment, vehicles and water/sewer system.
- Responsible to move needed equipment and supplies to safe zones during emergency weather situations.
- Performs regular maintenance of ranch roads and trails including grading, clearing/mowing ditches, filling potholes, and speed limit signs.
- Develops and oversees landscaping plans and care of trees, lawns and shrubs.
- Recruits, trains and supervises seasonal personnel or students to assist with as-needed tasks such as mowing or snow removal.
- Develops and implements routine schedules for grounds, equipment and vehicles.
- Management of wastewater lagoons for proper operation and compliance with state regulations. Ensures operator's certification and permits are current.
- Oversees the operation, repair and maintenance of the Ranch utilities including records maintenance. Monitors propane levels and orders propane as necessary.
- Primary contact with government agencies concerning water production, condition and safety.
- Oversees operation, repair and maintenance of the swimming pool.
- Ensures insurance requirements for pool are met and complied with.
- Oversees the care of livestock owned by the Ranch including records maintenance.
- Maintains fences and corrals.
- Performs monthly checks on smoke detectors to meet insurance requirements.
- Assists in developing and implementing the annual budget.
- Raises and maintains a prayer and financial support base to cover expenses.
- Able to coordinate and supervise volunteer work groups.
- All other duties as assigned.
