Los Angeles is one of the most religiously diverse cities in the United States, with many different Christian denominations represented. However, church attendance has been declining. In the last several years, only about 34% of adults in Los Angeles County reported attending religious services once a week or more, down from 41% in 2007.
At the same time, the population of Los Angeles continues to grow rapidly. It is estimated that by 2040, the population will increase by over 1 million residents. This presents both a need and an opportunity for new church plants to reach more people.
Over 30% of residents in the City of Los Angeles live below the poverty line. Neighborhoods flourish when healthy, reproducing churches minister to those in need.
World Impact’s Evangel School of Urban Church Planting aims to train leaders specifically to plant churches in these under-resourced urban communities across Los Angeles. Every dollar you donate helps this mission.
Can help develop structure, services, outreach, finances, discipleship, and leadership pipelines in Los Angeles.
You Can Accelerate Church Plants in Los Angeles
In the past 5 years alone, there have been over 150 new church plants in Los Angeles. World Impact wants to accelerate this trend by removing barriers that hold many potential planters back from fulfilling their calling.
With increased support and training, the vision is to commission 100 new church plants across Los Angeles by 2030.
Will you help train church planters and accelerate the health of Los Angeles and beyond?
