Help Us Empower Houston's Trauma Victims Through Faith-Based Healing

Trauma healing can change communities

In Houston, trauma affects a significant portion of the population, with the suicide rate increasing to 11.2 per 100,000 in the last few years.

In addition, the proportion of adults experiencing frequent mental distress in Texas is up to 12.1%. Poverty, violence, disability, and inequality can increase the risk of developing mental health conditions.

Many Houstonians reported that the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted their mental health, with increased levels of worry, anxiety, concern, and loss of interest.

Addressing trauma is critical to breaking cycles of adversity and improving health outcomes for Houston’s future.

Programs aimed at supporting families and trauma survivors must offer long-term, comprehensive solutions to truly make an impact. That’s what we hope to do in Houston, with your help.

Trauma healing equips urban church leaders with basic mental health & Biblical principles

When you partner with World Impact, you ensure urban leaders can help others heal from trauma and hear the good news. When this happens, their churches are healthier, and individuals, families, and neighborhoods can flourish through their local ministry.

Equipping leaders in Houston with trauma healing training has immense potential to help heal trauma and transform lives. We partner with local churches and ministries, providing them with Bible-based tools to create safe spaces for people to process trauma. Urban ministry workers and leaders can become certified to facilitate their own trauma healing groups.

Lives can be restored when trauma is addressed in transformative ways.
