Our Prison Ministry empowers incarcerated men and women with training in evangelism, discipleship, and Christian leadership so they can become powerful agents of change, transforming lives and advancing God’s kingdom from within and as returning citizens.
We believe that God can transform the lives of incarcerated men and women and call them to radical ministry within prison walls and upon release.
Training on the Inside:
We establish Church-Based Seminary satellites inside prisons in partnership with churches and ministries like yours. We are currently training over 1,400 leaders on the inside.
Training on the Outside:
As part of our incarceration network, World Impact resources partners who offer our Church- Based Seminary courses to returning citizens upon release.
World Impact identifies churches and reentry ministries located in communities, where men and women are paroled, to facilitate completion of their coursework that began on the inside.
Upon release, if local training isn’t available, returning citizens can access training online directly through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) at World Impact.
The local church is not a building or program—it’s God’s people; God’s divinely appointed, most effective, and most sustainable instrument for lasting spiritual transformation and the tangible flourishing of its neighborhood and wider community.
That’s why World Impact offers a unique approach to curriculum and offerings:

From Tragedy to Transformation: How the Local Church and World Impact are Restoring Communities of Hope
From deep personal brokenness to lasting transformation, this is the story of Renee, a dedicated ministry leader who found her lifeline in the church.
It’s a powerful example of how a faith-based, holistic approach can empower one person to become a catalyst for change, not just for themselves but for their entire community.
This is the essence of Christian Community Development—walking alongside one another to cultivate shalom in a broken world.
Meet Megan and Micah Williams, church planters in Detroit, Michigan.
Micah and Megan Williams, equipped by World Impact, have planted a church in their Detroit suburb that never had a church before. They go beyond the church walls to serve their communities, such as helping with housing.
When Micah researched training options, he realized many organizations were geared toward a suburban context. He knew they needed training specifically for serving their urban neighbors. World Impact’s Evangel School of Urban Church Planting was a perfect fit. The curriculum “gave us the structure, framework, and encouragement that will help guide us into this call the Lord has placed on our hearts,” Micah shared.
Meet someone who embodies the mission of World Impact —Shaun Estrada.
Shaun is a co-pastor at Mosaic Life Church, a Community Director for Hope Ranch for Women, and one of our World Impact trainers.
In a recent conversation, Shaun shared about the joy and responsibility of equipping others through World Impact’s programs, how powerful it is to watch leaders grow in confidence and biblical knowledge, and the importance of multiplying ministry by training others to do the same.
Shaun’s passion for raising up leaders reflects the heart of World Impact—empowering disciples who make disciples.
