We Help Urban Leaders Plant Healthy Churches

The church planting program of World Impact (Evangel) exists to support your movement, ministry network, denomination, or church as you develop a sound, reproducible strategy to plant healthy churches in communities experiencing poverty.

Since 2016, World Impact has equipped 856 church plant teams to create a strategy for their unique ministry context in the United States and around the world.

A Program Designed for You and Your Church Plant Team

Develop a contextualized model, and create an actionable plan to move your church forward to fulfill God’s calling.

This includes teams who are planting a new church, preparing to re-plant (restart, revitalize, or relaunch) an existing church, seeking a process for transitioning to next generation of pastoral leadership, or seeking to catalyze a church planting movement.

You will utilize the Church PLANT Manual (on Amazon, Digital Preview) which explains the principles of church planting, turning principles into actionable goals to develop a one-year strategic plan.

Your church plant team will also be led by an Evangel Coach during the school (and for the entire 12-month process) as you complete team exercises and discern your unique path with your team.

Your Program Summary

  • 2-day in-person team event
  • Get equipped with principles for church planting through seminars.
  • Work together with an Evangel Coach to complete team exercises.
  • Create a one-year strategy to PLANT a church.
  • Complete an Evangel Charter (strategic plan).
  • Evangel will commission your chartered team.  
  • Each chartered team will receive additional coaching for one year.

Benefits for Your Church Plant Team

  • A twelve-month strategic plan toward planting your church.
  • An Evangel Field Coach that will walk with your team for one year after the school.
  • Your church will be part of the Evangel Network, a fellowship of like-minded church planters.
  • Your church will be an approved World Impact partner with the ability to host other applicable World Impact programs.

 

Program Cost

$100 per team (2-5 people)

  • This covers the registration fee, meals, and resources for your church plant team.
  • Teams are responsible for travel and lodging costs.

 

Application Steps

  1. Form your church plant team (2-5 people)
  2. Team leader completes the Evangel School of Urban Church Planting application
  3. Team leader completes an interview with the Dean of Church Plant Schools
  4. If approved, the Team leader will be invited to register their team (via Eventbrite)
    • Registration cost $300 per team (2-5 people)
  1. Team leader completes the assessment process:
    • Team leader completes a self-evaluation
    • Team leader’s spouse (if married) completes an evaluation of the leader
    • Team leader’s pastor completes an evaluation and offers a reference
  1. Team leader completes prerequisite assignments
