World Impact’s Evangel School of Urban Church Planting exists to help your movement, ministry network, denomination or church develop a sound, reproducible strategy to plant healthy churches in communities of poverty. You can be trained as a church plant team or trained to train other church plant teams.

How does church plant training benefit your church plant team?

  • A twelve-month strategic plan toward planting your church
  • An Evangel Field Coach who will walk with your team for one year after the training as you move toward planting your church
  • Your church will be part of the Evangel Network – a fellowship of like-minded church plants
  • Your church will become an Approved World Impact Partner with the ability to host other World Impact programs and access additional resources through World Impact U.

Get trained as a church plant team

Evangel Schools are offered by Certified Evangel Deans who train and coach church plant teams as they develop a contextualized model, strategy, and twelve-month plan for planting (or replanting) a church.

Certified Evangel Deans run schools in various contexts, settings, and formats. Church plant teams looking for training will need to get the details for various schools directly from the Evangel Deans running the school they are interested in attending.

Requirements

  • Contact Rev. Ted Smith, Dean of Church Plant Schools
  • Complete an interview with a Certified Evangel Dean
  • Provide a pastor’s reference
  • Affirm World Impact’s Statement of Faith
  • Upon approval, Dean Candidates will receive access to World Impact U.
  • Register for an Evangel School and submit application fee:
    • US Church Planters: $20 per team member
    • International Church Planters: $5 per team member
  • Purchase required texts (hard copies or Kindle versions when available)
  • Complete Evangel School work via World Impact U (est. 20-25 hours)
  • Complete three coaching sessions with Evangel Coaches (12 hours)
  • Complete the Church Charter form
  • Approved teams are commissioned

  • Complete Evangel School work via World Impact U (est. 20-25 hours)
  • Complete three coaching sessions with an Evangel Coach (12 hours)
  • Complete a Church Charter form

  • An Evangel Field Coach will walk with the team for one year after the school as they work toward planting the church

Get trained as a church plant trainer

The Evangel Dean School equips leaders from your movement, denomination, ministry network, or church to train church plant teams to establish new churches in their context by offering Evangel Schools of Urban Church Planting. 

As Certified Evangel Dean Catalysts run schools in various context, setting, and formats. Those want to train church planters will need to get the details for various schools directly from the Evangel Deans Catalysts running the school they are interested in attending.

  • Dean Candidates complete all sessions of the Dean School.
  • Dean Candidates complete Coaching Sessions with Evangel Dean Coaches.
  • Dean Candidates complete a Dean Certification form toward hosting an Evangel School.
  • Dean Candidates are Commissioned to facilitate Evangel Schools of Urban Church Planting.
  • Evangel Dean Coaches walk with Evangel Deans for one year for continued coaching.

Requirements

  • Complete an application
  • Complete an interview with the Dean of Church Plant Schools
  • Provide a Pastoral Reference
  • Affirm World Impact’s Statement of Faith 
  • If approved, Dean Candidates will receive login information for World Impact U.
  • Register for the Dean Training
  • Pay Registration fee
    • US Dean Candidates: $65
    • International Dean Candidates: $45
  • Purchase required texts (est. cost $ 165 – $225). Dean Candidates can purchase hard copies or Kindle versions when available. The following resources will be linked to reading assignments digitally throughout the school. However, it is a best practice to purchase the following texts for use and reference after the Dean School.

Evangel Dean School - Candidate Process

  • Complete all Dean School work via World Impact U (est. 35-40 hours)
  • Complete three coaching sessions with an Evangel Dean Coach (EDC) (12 hours)
  • Complete the Dean Certification Form
  • Approved Evangel Deans are Commissioned and Certified to host Evangel Schools
  • An Evangel Dean Coach will walk with the Dean Team for one year after the school toward hosting their first Evangel School.
