The Great Commission of our Lord Jesus is about “going.” There are times, though, that the “goers” need to be convened. In partnership with the Sacred Roots Thriving in Ministry Project, we did just that at the 2022 Evangel Gathering. Forty movement leaders–Bishops, Presidents of Missions Organizations, Prison Ministry Organizations, Pastors who are doing Great Commission work in the following countries and locations: Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Cuba, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, India, Prisons, Skid Row (Los Angeles)–gathered for inspiration, worship, fellowship, networking, and equipping to “cinch their Kingdom belt” and get right back at it. I must say that the Holy Spirit worked in incredible ways as we laser-focused on our theme: Moving Forward to Multiply.
In moving forward to multiply, we were reminded of the all-but-forgotten unimpressive method of apprenticeship and the upside-down Kingdom principle of unlikely people (the poor, forgotten, prisoners) being used of God to advance His Kingdom. We were stirred and challenged as movement leaders to have an unlimited impact in the harvest field of souls.
