I had a wonderful time at the Dallas Men's Conference last fall. It's always an honor to be with other men of God in fellowship. The powerful prayers, old school style of praise and worship, the awesome speakers, the small groups, the project, the one-on-one conversations, the good meals, activities at the nice facility, and movie time. I enjoyed the entire weekend!
I’m coming to the realization that men desire to praise and worship God together and to be honest, encouraging, and vulnerable with one another. We can use this as a growing tool. I was humbled to see men so transparent with each other knowing there would be no judgment. One of my favorite moments at the conference is when the teams sent up a representative to speak, because it allowed everyone in the room an opportunity to connect, learn what each team came up with, and for the representative to share background about their life.
The conference allows men to be themselves and to let their guards down. The unity was life-changing for several reasons. It's something to glean from and hold on to for years to come. You can leave an experience like that changed forever. The guys there were excited to be there, which made the weekend more fulfilling and worth every moment. I saw men laugh and cry tears of joy. To know that I contributed to making an impact on someone's life based on the feedback was not taken for granted. To see the men leaving empowered and with hope that it's light at the end of their tunnel truly filled my heart.
