Froman October Prayer Letter
Autumn is here and we are in full swing at Los Angeles Christian School (LACS)! This year my fifth grade class has three new students, so we have been enjoying getting to know them and building new relationships as a class.
The Inheritance of the City
I am so excited to share with you the great things God is doing in the city. We often pray for the Kingdom of God, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as [it is] in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) and I know that our prayers are being answered.
A Common Connection
As we tell our story to people and share the places where we have been there is often a sense of “I don’t know what to do with that.”
A Heart Like His
Early this year, I asked my prayer team to pray that one of my students, Jaslene, would place her faith in Jesus as her Lord. The good news is, she has prayed to receive Jesus and has been saved!
God’s Timing
Sometimes in ministry it is easy to get impatient for results. People are financially supporting you and the ministry and you want them to see tangible progress.
The Old Yellow Chair
It all started last year when one of my students was clearly upset and could not focus on his schoolwork. I invited him back to talk with me and within minutes he was sitting in an old yellow chair behind my desk sobbing.
A Heart Change
Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of watching one young boy change before my eyes.
Church on Skid Row
Recently I attended church on Skid Row in Los Angeles. I have been to this area many times over the years, but never for a Sunday service.
Childlike Faith
Roberto* entered my classroom with a reputation that preceded him. Others told me what a “handful” this child is and some of his bad habits and stories from his previous school.
Missions-Minded Students
Recently, at Newark Christian School, we celebrated Geography Day, with each group of students representing different cultures.
NCS is like Gold
Newark Christian School’s purpose is to provide an affordable, quality private education for families in the Newark metropolitan area.
The Sequoia Tree
If you have ever seen my photography, you would learn very quickly that I love trees. I can’t explain why I love them so much, but they are to me one of the crowning features of God’s creation.
Education as Formation
There is evidence-based research that suggest that there is increased success of Black and Brown children in public schools when the church is involved.
Hidden in their Hearts
As I look back over the school year I am certainly thankful for the Lord’s hand in our Saturday King’s Kids program.
Young Entrepreneurs
The Young Entrepreneur’s Program is designed to train and equip young leaders in the city of Los Angeles.
A Safe Haven
In prisons across America, God is using The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) to transform lives and grow His Church.
He Knows My Name
It was dusty. It was hot. The absence of color was startling. Handing over our driver’s licenses and watching the double-gate with razor wire close was strange. Frightening? No. Just strange.
