Nearer to Salvation

World Impact’s Mobile Medical truck visits Lighthouse Community Church in South Wichita once a week to offer free health clinics and times of prayer.

Walking Field Trip

I love to read the story My Teacher Sleeps at School with my kindergarten students every year.

A Basement for Business

One of the first distinctives I learned about California when I moved here was that there are little to no basements in houses or buildings.

Summer Ministry in Newark

Community ministry means showing compassion to the hurting and vulnerable people in our neighborhoods. Included are children and teens who are often left to fend for themselves during the summer months.

TUMI in Thailand

“I am a pastor with leaders who need training. Can you help us?” This was the question we heard over and over again. We were in Bangkok, Thailand for The Global Proclamation Congress this past June.

A Trophy of Grace

As an avid fisherman, I love Jesus’ command in Mark 1:17, “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” One of the basics of being a successful fisherman is to go where there are fish and where they are biting.

TUMI Student Les

In Dallas, there is a thriving community of urban leaders being trained through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI). One of those students is Les. Les is the director of worship arts ministry at West Dallas Community Church in Dallas, Texas.

A Different Type of Education

I was very tall, very white and very blonde. I looked nothing like the other kids in the fourth grade. It was my first day at World Impact’s Los Angeles Christian School (LACS).

Future Leaders

Another school year at Los Angeles Christian School (LACS) has begun. Our first day of school was August 29, and I am back in the fifth grade classroom with a new group of students.

Second Annual Prison Revival

This month we will hold our 2nd annual prison revival in the medium unit at Hutchinson Correctional Facility in Kansas. Last year we had a time of worship, testimonies, and an altar call where guys could come forward for salvation and prayer.

Noble Purpose

I couldn’t fall asleep last night because the Holy Spirit kept showing me everything He wanted for our church plant team and His church. I was so excited I just couldn’t sleep!

Thick-Skinned Urban Missionaries

I love superhero movies and television series. I also have a love for comics. Next month, Netflix is launching a new series on the superhero, Luke Cage. Like super heroes such as Black Panther and Falcon, Luke Cage is African American. He resides in Harlem, New York, standing against evil and fighting for justice.

The Missional Call of the Poor

When Jesus came into this upside-down, bizarro world, he gave us a picture of what our world could look like if it was turned right-side up again.

A Legacy

A month ago we attended the funeral of a dear lady we have known for the past 30 years. She was a godly grandmother who left a legacy in how she helped raise many of her grandchildren. How she lived her life and cared for her grandchildren influenced them to also follow after Christ.

We Can Be the Solution

I pray that if you are not currently a missional partner with World Impact that you would decide to do that now.

Help Us Equip the Next Generation of Church Leaders

Our vision is a world where every community experiencing poverty has a healthy church. But how can that happen if local church leaders don’t have access to Bible-based training and resources in their own languages? Translating these materials is essential for equipping leaders and growing Christ-centered churches.
