In 2016, The Urban Ministry Institute’s Siafu Ministry had various Men’s and Women’s Leadership Retreats throughout the country. Some were in Spanish and others in English.
Each year at Harmony Heart Camp, we would host a Christmas event for the families from Newark and Chester. One year, we had the largest turnout ever, but the family atmosphere was not lost.
We had teachers at Newark Christian School and Los Angeles Christian School ask some students what they were excited for this Christmas. Here are their answers!
Recently, I was able to be a part of seeing someone personally receive this gift of salvation in Jesus! Sasha* is a 26 year-old young woman who I first met when she was a young teen.
Our family moved to Newark, New Jersey, as World Impact missionaries in 1986. When they got old enough, our children became part of the Bible Clubs and attended Newark Christian School.
Greetings from the Hoernig family. Ruth and I have been blessed with a wonderful family, including our daughter-in-law Kim and two grandkids, Isaac and Caleb. All is well and we pray blessings on you and your families also.
This holiday season at World Impact, we have so much to be thankful for. God has truly blessed us and the work of the ministry throughout this entire year.
This school year at Newark Christian School is different from last year in many ways. Our classroom currently holds twice the amount of tables and little bodies and triple the amount of chairs it did last year.
Community ministry means showing compassion to the hurting and vulnerable people in our neighborhoods. Included are children and teens who are often left to fend for themselves during the summer months.
Every school year I have a theme for my students to follow through their studies. This year my theme was “What does it look like to love my neighbor?”
I finally got a Facebook account, and it has been great fun to reconnect with students I have not seen for over 20 years.
An awesome move of the Holy Spirit is taking place where most people would expect nothing good to happen – inside the walls of many of our prisons and jails.
