World Impact’s vision is to empower urban leaders to powerfully advance God’s Kingdom in urban areas across America. In order to advance God’s Kingdom in the city, healthy urban churches must be planted.
World Impact has been expanding its partnerships with local ministries and church organizations nationally since the addition of new president, Efrem Smith.
As Samuel Abbot addressed his “Summit,” a gathering of multiple congregations over which he provides leadership, he said about World Impact, “They are doing what I want to do, so it only makes sense to do it together.”

My name is Cedric Nelms and I am the pastor of Chosen Generation Fellowship Church, a grass-roots church plant in South Los Angeles. As an Associate of World Impact and church planter in Los Angeles, CA, I was able to attend the Evangel School of Urban Church Planting Dean training.
The Spirit is on the move in our vision of planting 100 churches in the poorest cities in the East Region of the United States. From Miami, FL, in the South to Newburgh, NY, up North – the urban poor are advancing the Kingdom of God through the planting of local churches.
Our church’s journey begins in the fall of 2011. I resigned from a secure position at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church to pursue the calling God had placed in my heart – to plant a church!
