I was given the opportunity to lead the Siafu Men’s Retreat this year with a team of amazing urban men from various walks of life.
It was an honor to serve as the worship leader at the West Coast SIAFU Women’s Retreat and to lead the women into a place of worship and submission unto the Lord.
We recently held our 2017 women’s retreat entitled Unashamed: My Story, God’s Glory at the Oaks Camp & Conference Center. It was such a blessing to see so many women come for a time of seeking and refreshment in God’s glorious splendor.
The 2017 West Coast Siafu Men’s Retreat was such an incredible weekend of retreat. It was really a summit where we experienced the spirit of the living God in those mountains.
The Unashamed Retreat was my first retreat experience. I was very excited in anticipation of what would take place. Even though I did not know many of the women there personally, I felt welcomed immediately by all.
Ministry is all about relationships, the gospel and the body of Christ, His Church; or that is my simplified version!
If you live in cities like Oakland, Sacramento, Antioch, Stockton or Fresno, you are well aware of the crime, the brokenness and the spiritual darkness that continues to penetrate our cities.
As we tell our story to people and share the places where we have been there is often a sense of “I don’t know what to do with that.”
Joey was reluctant. He wasn’t sure he wanted to serve as a student leader at camp.
From anger, confusion, hurt, addiction, and brokenness to strength, love, encouragement, truth, and freedom.
This past month I had a unique opportunity to spend a long weekend with many of my seventh and eighth grade students.
