Two weeks ago I was as close to the edge as one can be. Close to prison, close to death. Bills and responsibilities chasing me as robber. My strength was fading, my focus blurry and my faith withered.
More than a decade ago a mentor at World Impact encouraged me to choose a single theme for each year as a focus for study. In 2016 the word has been “gratitude.”
Over 120 men from the Midwest joined together at Morning Star Ranch to experience the best men’s retreat yet. This year was a little different because it was the first year that a leadership team of five urban men planned and co-led the entire retreat.
World Impact believes in resourcing urban leaders. One way we do this is through concise, practical and hands-on training at conferences and encouragement through retreats.
Last weekend a team from the Midwest Region traveled to Cuba to help host a women’s retreat for the ladies in the church there. I felt God’s grace and provision so strongly the entire time.
