The West Coast Men’s Retreat is an annual event that takes place at The Oaks in Lake Hughes, CA.
We’ve been back to school for about a month now. It’s so good to be back with my students and starting another school year.
When my wife Audrey and I first started teaching The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) classes in prisons, we were really concerned with how we were going to reach all these people.
From my second week with 4th-6th graders here at The Oaks, I felt that Thursday should be a day centered around the Gospel.
Change. Development. Growth. These are terms often used to describe the progress in a school year’s time. How is it measured?
Retreating is a unique activity. Most times in life our motto is never retreat.
Summer has flown by and we’re gearing up for a new school year at Los Angeles Christian School (LACS).
Hopie sent her son to our Bible club. Afterwards she would often invite us in to hang out. Over the months we connected over Bible studies, BBQ’s, going for walks.
It was honestly a tough year for all of us, but we made it through and I trust that God will continue to work in their lives in ways I cannot yet see.
Cross City Church partnered with us to repair bikes in our community. The team set a new record repairing 71 bikes!
Formal cap and gown graduations punctuate the honor and respect we have for each of our leaders. We believe God is raising up some of the best leaders, for the Church and the Great Commission, from our cities and prisons.
