Greetings fellow warriors in the strong name of Jesus Christ,
Mike was sitting in a settee and two men in shorts and tank top t-shirts sat cross-legged on the bed across the dirt bedroom floor from him. They were watching a TUMI video on his laptop and following along in the curriculum mentors manual. One was a former terrorist and of the Brahman caste, and the other was a young man who just graduated with a Master of Divinity from an English Speaking Seminary in India. Not unlike Paul (a former terrorist against the church) and Barnabas his ministry partner, these two men, along with their wives are full-time missionaries for the gospel. One was once a radical Hindu and the other a pastor’s son. God brought them and me together to begin a TUMI school in a remote area of India. Only God could make those kinds of arrangements. I was privileged to be there.
Yes, the trip to Assam was very successful and we thank you for your prayers. Mike was able to deliver 80% of the curriculum all packed in his luggage and spend a week showing them how to use it. He was in a small village about 25 miles from the Myanmar border in the heart of tea country. He was able to teach two modules in seven days so he and his new TUMI mentor really pushed the students. The first two days the students didn’t know what hit them but they responded in grand style and by the last two days they were getting great test scores and becoming excited about what they were learning of God’s Word and what God would do in and through their lives. Remember these new future leaders the next time you drink some Assam tea.
As you read in our previous letter the ministry growth in Colorado is compelling, as we live in one of the most un-churched areas of the country with an exploding population. It only makes sense that we get better organized and plan for the future. The Denver Metro population is now 3.4 million (16th most populous in the country) and growing nearly 10,000 per month and the growth is from all over the world. The Front Range has 4.8 million and the state 5.5 million. That’s a big mission field with connections worldwide.
We need your support more than ever as we endeavor to build an expanding base of ministry here. Thank you for your prayers and support in the past.
May God’s peace and love be with you,
Mike and Mary Dicke
