Go Boldly

“A great deal more failure is the result of an excess of caution than of bold experimentation with new ideas. The frontiers of the Kingdom of God were never advanced by men and women of caution.”
—J. Oswald Sanders

Incredible Kingdom opportunities and realities to advance God’s Kingdom are before us in 2017 and I don’t plan on failing because of caution. I plan to experiment and to experiment boldly. Here is a glimpse of highlights and opportunities for praise and prayer in our church planting efforts.

We began a partnership with Stadia, a church planting organization. Stadia has committed to raising funds for 15 churches among the poor to be started in 2017. The funds will help cover the cost for training at Evangel School, further any theological training through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) for the church planter, coaching costs, scholarship funds for Leadership Retreats and seed money for the church plant.

An exciting and key strategic move took place at our September 2016 Evangel Dean School of Urban Church Planting when we certified and commissioned the first Spanish Evangel Urban Church Planting Team of Robert Vasquez, Mynor Canal, Juan Pablo and Sol Herrera. This “Fantastic Four” has great plans to expand God’s Kingdom by equipping hundreds of Spanish-speaking teams to plant churches internationally and domestically.

I also firmly believe our partnership with Prison Fellowship and the saints being equipped for ministry with the TUMI capstone curriculum is a virtually untapped “Army of God” to be released into the Great Commission. Please pray that God would grant favor to our ideas to tap into this army which would bring him the greatest glory and honor.

This is just a glimpse of what is before us. God has more than we can think or imagine that He wants to accomplish through bold proclamation of the Gospel among the poor, equipping of the saints, and establishing of Communities of the Kingdom that will be salt and light in dark places. It is not the time for caution but for bold experimentation. Let’s go!
