This holiday season at World Impact, we have so much to be thankful for. God has truly blessed us and the work of the ministry throughout this entire year. We have witnessed the increase of our enrollment at Newark Christian School and we have also seen our first gang member from our new gang outreach ministry “drop his flag” and pick up the banner of Christ Jesus. We have been blessed to see the fruit of our prison re-entry ministry, I2I, Incarceration to Incorporation. Through this program, we have been able to assist brothers returning to the community dedicate their lives to the Lord and also find gainful employment.
Last month we were grateful for all the brothers who attended our men’s retreat and for the testimonies that were shared about God’s handiwork in ministries throughout the East Region. We are thankful for God’s continued grace and providence over His work. As we look toward Thanksgiving, we are reminded daily of the importance of family and fellowship. The Lord has adopted us into his family (Romans 8:15) and we, in turn, are family in spirit.
Many of us will eat heartedly over this holiday season. But, our work often brings us in contact with those not as fortunate. We are thankful for the opportunity to be used of God to bless those we minister to and thankful that God is glorified through our service (2 Corinthians 4:15).
Finally, we are thankful for the prayers and support of those called to assist us. Thank you for partnering with us to transform our communities. Let us be mindful of the fact that God’s Word states, “We are saved unto good works.” (Ephesians 2:10). May this season provide all of us with opportunities to let our light so shine (Matthew 5:16) to the glory of God.
