Dear Friends and Family,
One of the many joys of working at Los Angeles Christian School has been getting to know my students on a deeper level. Not only do I see them grow academically and socially, but I can also see them grow spiritually. Twice a week I meet with three girls in sixth grade for our discipleship group or d-group (pictured are my three sixth graders sharing smoothies and snacks on a fun day). The purpose of these groups is to walk alongside these girls in their relationship with God.
Even though our purpose is to talk about God each week, our conversation often takes us elsewhere. Can you imagine middle schoolers off track? My girls spend a lot of time laughing and sharing stories with one another. And often end up rolling on the floor with laughter. I praise God for this! I am thankful that these three girls love one another and are able to be silly. I pray that God will work His way into our conversations even if only for a moment. I pray that these girls will come to know Jesus personally.
Thank you, thank you, for your prayers and support! I shared in my last letter how overwhelmed I was coming to this new place. God has definitely met me in that place of fear and been my solid rock. Even though I miss home, I know God is using me for His Kingdom here! I am thankful to have amazing co-workers and you supporting me.
Support Update: Praise God I am more than 50 percent supported!
Love,
Rachel
