Dr. Don Davis Introduces Juan Carlos Morarie

The God of the Bible is not changing in His desire to see churches grow across the globe.

And this is why World Impact looks to the future with hope as we welcome new leaders and see others move into new roles within the organization.

Change Is In The Air At World Impact

World Impact is in a time of transition as we unify our efforts across our core programs into a single vision to serve the Lord and raise Church leaders in every community of poverty.

"I could not be more excited about what God is about to do. The Lord is on the move. We thank you so much for your friendship and partnership in the Gospel."

Dr. Davis Is Now Senior Advisor To The President

Dr. Davis, who has served World Impact for decades in many capacities, most recently as SVP of Church Resources, is beginning a new role as Senior Executive Advisor to Dr. Alvin Sanders.

His new focus will be recruiting and mentoring a wave of new partners who will join in our training and efforts to plant new churches in communities of need worldwide.

Meet Juan Carlos Morarie – World Impact's New SVP of Programs

Along with this transition for Dr. Davis to continue to build our partnerships, we are also excited to introduce Juan Carlos Morarie as SVP of Programs.

Juan Carlos is stepping into a new role on our staff, overseeing our core programs and helping to unify our efforts across our resources and offerings.

“It's our church leaders that are doing the hard work every single day in our communities."

“However we can train and resource and come alongside with them – that’s what we want to do,” Juan Carlos shared.

As we take our first steps into the future as an organization, we are excited about what Juan Carlos brings to our ministry.

Dr. Davis and Morarie’s Previous Careers

Dr. Davis, and his wife, Beth, began working at World Impact in 1975.

From that time, Dr. Davis served in many different positions within World Impact before moving with his family to attend both Wheaton College and the University of Iowa to obtain doctorate degrees in Philosophy and Theology.

He returned to World Impact in Wichita in 1995, working with Rev. Terry Cornett to develop the curriculum that became the Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI).

TUMI has been active for the last quarter century serving as the developmental center of World Impact’s curriculum, with thousands of graduates across the country and the globe. Many graduates are incarcerated leaders planting churches within the prison walls, while some are planting churches in communities of poverty upon their release.

TUMI resources will continue to be an integral part of our program offerings and help train our partners to be well-equipped leaders in the church wherever the Lord has called them – from urban neighborhoods to prisons to international cities.

Juan Carlos Morarie comes to World Impact from the Denver metro area, where he lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and his four children.

He served with Denver Rescue Mission for the past 15 years overseeing their operations.

Morarie will leverage his experience and calling to lend stability and direction to World Impact’s four programs: Church-based Seminary, Urban Church Planting, Prison Ministry, and Trauma Healing.

“It’s truly an honor to be here,” Morarie said.

"The church is the answer to so many of the problems in our communities. When I heard what World Impact does, that they train leaders, they fortify the church… I wanted to join the work."
