Hope House: Helping Former Foster Youth in the Bay Area

Local news story from KTVU Fox

Pastor Shantell Owens, Co-Founder and Pastor of Genesis Church-Antioch, was recently interviewed by Fox Bay Area (KTVU) along with a Hope House resident on the impact this house is making in her community by supporting displaced foster youth.

Through the program, young adults who have aged out of the foster care system––and are more vulnerable to homelessness, incarceration, abuse, and little to no opportunity for schooling––are provided with life skills training so they can reclaim their lives and futures, plus gain a family who genuinely loves them.

Pastor Shantell has gone through our Church-Based Seminary Program (TUMI) and Trauma Healing training and uses the knowledge from these resources to help these young adults grow in their walks with God and find healing from past trauma.

What an amazing thing God is doing in HOPE House!
