Eight church plant engagements through World Impact Associates have been established in Wilmington, DE; Alexandria, VA; Newburgh, NY; Hudson, NY; Coney Island, two in Brooklyn, and 10 cells in the cities of Paterson, Passaic and Newark. Over 10 partnerships in ministry have been established this year. These include several denominations, colleges, and urban ministries.
The Christian Transformation Center, our 180,000 square foot facility, continues to be developed as a discipleship and leadership training center for the Kindergartener to the ex-offender. Siafu Chapter #9 is the first established at the Center. It is the first Chapter in the East Region. The first Siafu Leadership Men's Home was also established and is located in Chester, PA.
Our Barnabas, Timothy and Kings Kids ministries continue to reach out with the Gospel to children and youth. We all were saddened with the death of 15 year-old Al-Shakeem “Monk” Woodson who was tragically gunned down in the streets of Newark. We praise God that he responded to the gospel of faith in Christ.
Leadership development through TUMI-Newark and TUMI-Chester continues to expand. God has opened a door for us to be in the Essex County Jail teaching the Sacred Roots Follow-Up Curriculum, Fighting the Good Fight: Playing Your Part in God's Unfolding Drama.
Five 8th grade students graduated from Newark Christian School in June. These 5 students have received over $100,000 in support and scholarships to attend quality high schools to further their education. What a blessing!
