Shaun Estrada’s Story: Multiplying Leaders

Shaun Estrada, co-pastor of Mosaic Life Church in Wichita, Kansas, carries a deep passion for seeing leaders rise up and multiply. But her own journey into ministry wasn’t without obstacles. “There wasn’t a lot of people encouraging me to go into full-time ministry because I’m a woman,” Shaun recalled. “But World Impact didn’t do that. They ran toward me with words like, you can do this. We want to empower you to do this. We’ll equip you to do this.” Those words and opportunities became a foundation for her calling, even in the seasons where she doubted her own voice.

One of the pivotal moments Shaun remembers came during a retreat where she preached about Rahab. “I’m just pouring my whole heart out, and the altar was full,” she shared. “This young lady came right up to me and said, Who told you you could do this? And it just stopped me, because not a whole lot of people had told me that. But World Impact was one of the ministries that said, You can do this.” That same young woman would later be discipled by Shaun and go on to disciple others—a ripple effect of empowerment and multiplication.

World Impact’s training through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) also came at just the right time for Shaun. “It came right at a moment where ministry was really hard in a season that was really hard,” she said. “But every time I came, they encouraged me in the Word. I grew in my faith, and I was affirmed every time that I am a leader. And so, what do you do with that? You go ahead and lead.” For Shaun, TUMI was more than a class—it was a lifeline that equipped her to step boldly into her role as a leader and trainer of others.

Reflecting on her journey since first encountering World Impact in 1998, Shaun sees a consistent thread. “It doesn’t matter what city I’m in, I can connect with people that are kingdom-minded, ready and willing to equip me to live out my calling. World Impact has been consistent. It’s still here. It’s still strong, and it’s still growing leaders for the Kingdom of God.” That consistency, she says, is why ministries like World Impact deserve prayer and support. “Another young woman that is doubting herself, another young woman that feels a call on her life, can find her voice through ministries like World Impact.”
