The translation of the Capstone curriculum into French is a shining example of the transformative power of partnership. Through the collaborative efforts of World Impact, Reverend Keith Kisart, and dedicated translators in Tanzania, this monumental project has equipped pastors in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other French-speaking African nations with invaluable resources.
Church leaders under Bishop Barnabas Muzusa in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been using World Impact’s Capstone modules as the translation of each one has reached completion. They now have the full curriculum at their disposal and have the opportunity to lead.
The journey was not without its challenges, but the unwavering commitment of all involved, fueled by the generosity of our donors, ensured its success.
The excitement and gratitude expressed by the recipients, who now hold in their hands tangible tools to deepen their understanding and enhance their ministry, serve as a powerful reminder of the profound impact of your support.
As Reverend Kisart shared, “They were excited that they had material. Something that they knew was college, seminary level. So that was just, it was like someone cared to take the time, and they had it in their hands.”
Answering the Call: Your Gifts at Work in the DRC
Reverend Kisart’s response to the plea for help from a pastor in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a testament to the impact of your generosity. Hearing the pastor’s desperate call for equipping and resources, Reverend Kisart felt a divine mandate to respond.
The successful completion of the French Capstone curriculum translation is a direct result of your support. The impact of this project extends far beyond the translated materials themselves, as it empowers pastors in the DRC to effectively lead and equip their congregations, fostering spiritual growth and transformation in their communities.
Empowering Urban Leaders: Ministry Beyond Walls
Reverend Kisart’s ministry in the urban core of St. Louis is a shining example of how your contributions are making a difference in the lives of the urban poor. Recognizing the barriers that traditional church settings can present, Reverend Kisart has embraced innovative approaches to reach and equip people for ministry.
By taking Bible studies to barbershops, libraries, and parks, he has created accessible spaces for spiritual growth and discipleship. The success of these initiatives underscores the importance of meeting people where they are and empowering them to minister within their own communities.
Reverend Kisart observes, “They will meet you in their own space. And, so if you can do that, and they can be equipped, and that person has a call from God… If you promote that, harness that, support that, I’ve seen that be successful.”
Bridging the Distance: Technology & Transformation
In an era of rapid technological advancement, your support has enabled World Impact to harness the power of technology to bridge geographical distances and facilitate ministry on a global scale. Platforms like Zoom have enabled Reverend Kisart to connect with and train pastors in the DRC, providing them with valuable resources and support.
While challenges such as limited infrastructure persist, creative solutions like providing generators for electricity and Wi-Fi have ensured the continuity of these transformative initiatives, made possible by your generosity.
The dedication of both the teachers and the students, who gather virtually week after week, is a testament to the power of technology to facilitate connection and learning.
As Reverend Kisart notes, “Their infrastructure is weak. They needed a generator. They don’t flip a switch, they have to have a generator for electricity, for Wi-Fi. All of that happens via funding.”
We’re Grateful for the Team Behind This Work
Pastor Keith and Rosalyn Kisart of Pursue Church in St. Louis, Missouri, and World Impact liaison, Harold Roesler, have been instrumental in the translation process, along with Pastor Eresh Tchaku of Tanzania, supervisor of the French and Swahili translation teams.
